Marco Lavagnino is a writer-director and producer whose photography background attributes to his involvement in both the creative and technical aspects of a film’s production.

His exposure to different backgrounds has influenced his inclination for multilingual sets, where the understanding of a scene comes not from dialogue but rather from the expression of the camera and performances. His work tends to explore people’s triumphs at the expense of their dehumanization. Such was true for his first short film (“Blink”) — which went on to gain exposure at various film festivals, one of which was the 52nd edition of the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma — and remained present with his second body of work (“Ante el Pie Derecho”), which was only recently completed.

All the while, Marco has directed various music videos, was hired as the DP of a feature film, and is en route to direct a short film about humanity in its most desperate form; his most ambitious project to date.

Thanks to his exposure to different backgrounds, Marco is fluent in Spanish, German, and English — with French next on the list.
